“I'm a positive thinker but it hasn't done much for me. Why not?”
I asked. My teacher answered:
“You are lying to yourself. You are not as positive as you say you are”.
Sempai Shelly got those invisible braces. She has to take them out every time she eats.
Do you know what happened to her calorie intake?
She said: “I never realized before how much I was eating. It was only a little snack here and a little snack there. At the end of the day I would have sworn I hadn’t eaten very much. But now I realize I was eating a lot more than I thought”.
And that’s what we all do with our thinking and speaking. Lots of things come out of our mind without our being aware. The problem with our thinking and speaking is so much of it is habitual. We are like robots; following old patterns and programs.
You need a technique that makes your thinking visible. You need a technique that gives you feedback to how you are doing from moment to moment.
Today I’m giving you one.
Bite your tongue.
Not figuratively - literally.
Every time you feel a negative emotion (Fear, Anger, Jealousy) it only means one thing. You ARE thinking negatively.
Every time you feel a negative emotion bite down. Maybe make it hurt a little.
I thought I was a positive thinker until I created this technique. At the end of the first day my tongue felt like raw hamburger! I had absolutely no idea how negative I was until I started doing this.
By the end of the first week my tongue was less sore. I wasn't biting it nearly as much.
By the next week my life started to improve.
This technique will change your life. It gives you real world physical feedback on how you are thinking and speaking. With a week of practice your ability to keep yourself in a positive state will dramatically improve.
Your life will reflect your state.
