Tyler Smith:
Mr. Tyler Smith has trained under Sensei Hurtsellers consistently since 2004 and currently holds the rank of second brown sash. (No small accomplishment in our dojo!) Tyler's exploration into martial arts began in 2000 while in St. Paul Minnesota. Over the next three years, he practiced at USA Karate under Master Klint Klaas and at the American Moodo Institute under Grandmaster Yoon. After graduating from college with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Tyler returned to his roots in northwest Ohio where he began training at the Martial Arts Center.
Outside the dojo, Tyler's other passions include electronic music, craft beer, and home ownership. Tyler is a graduate of St. John's Jesuit High School and Northwestern University and is currently employed as a design engineer at Cooper Tire & Rubber Company. He and his wife Glencora currently reside in Perrysburg.
David Blattman:

David Blattman has been studying martial arts for most of his life - he began when he was just 6 years old. He wrestled throughout high school and graduated from Saint John's Jesuit High School in 2009. He is currently taking classes at the University of Toledo. The dojo and its culture have been integral parts of his life since he began his practice in 1997. He began assisting classes at the young age of 13, and today one of our most important instructors and active fighters (with a very strong and ever improving record). His passion truly shows when he is on the mats teaching the art that he literally has grown up with.

When Mr. Brad Bell started at the Martial Arts Center he was looking to make a positive change in his life. Mark Sears: (bio coming soon)

Mark began his practice with Sensei Hurtsellers in 2001. After watching his young son Matthew practice under Sensei and Sempai, he became seriously interested in practicing himself. Like many others, he thought he was signing up to get some exercise and learn self defense techniques. He quickly realized it was much more. Ever since, Martial Arts has become a big part of Mark’s life. You can find him in the dojo regularly meditating and sweating on the mats.
In addition to his practice at the Dojo, Mark enjoys spending time with family and friends, running, biking and exercising. Mark and his wife Robin have 2 children and reside in Maumee, Ohio.

Eric Halicek:
Eric's bio - in his own words:
I was born on January 28, 1997. From an early age I was interested in martial arts and started my training in June 2009; I am currently a green belt in teen rank. I’m planning to go to St. Francis de Sales high school next year. I love martial arts very much and am planning on continuing it through high school and beyond. I am the youngest of three children and live with my family in Perrysburg. In my spare time I also like to run cross country, read martial arts books, and make amateur videos. I am working toward becoming a great martial artist but hope I never have to use it against someone. I love being a part of the staff and really enjoy teaching and working with the younger kids.
