Our Facilities

" I've traveled all over the world and seen dojos of many sizes and shapes. I've noticed that wherever you go 98% of the dojos out there look exactly the same; they are 98% filled with empty space!" - Sensei Hurtsellers

Our Martial Arts dojo is Located on the Pond at The Shops at Fallen Timbers

When you attend our dojo what you are involving yourself in is the classroom the instruction, the atmosphere, the ability to be involved in something bigger than yourself and network with others to get the most from your training. The facility always should be secondary to all of those more important things. Having said that, there are some things about our facilities that we are truly proud of that we will list below.

There is a saying in Zen; it goes: “How you do one thing, is how you'll do everything!” We believe this from the bottom of our hearts. While it's true that the facility doesn't teach the class for you, the reality is that it's nice to be in an environment that you can bring your friends to, that is close to entertainment and shopping, and that is beautiful and clean.

We believe that cleanliness and organization are the first step in creating the atmosphere that makes all of the other disciplines within the Martial Arts come to life. When we are working with children can we really tell them how important it is to pick up their room, if first we have not taken the time to clean up our facility? When we work with an adult, can we expect them to take us seriously when we explain the importance of a specific detail in technique if we do not work on the details of our dojos?

When you walk into either of our dojos you will notice an important emphasis on beauty and detail. Does this make our Martial Arts better? I'm not sure, but I do know this – when you look at our facility one thing is certain, you will know that we care.
